An artist has no home in Europe except in Paris.

Walking to our apartment (Pictured: Amber & Sara)

But, in this case, Athens is MORE than accommodating.

CYA housing consists of lovely apartments around Athen's. All of them are within practical walking distance of the education center, which is really nice.
My apartment is located on the 2nd floor (Or, in American terms, the 3rd floor. In Europe it goes "Ground floor, first floor, second floor, etc etc.") of Eratosthenous. Its a lovely, busy street that is literally a minute and a half walk from school.
Kitchen!
When Sara and I arrived, there were other CYA ladies bringing their luggage in. There are two student apartments in our building. A student, Gloria, was nice enough to lug our luggage in the elevator up to our floor. Unfortunately for her, she realized that she was not located on the second floor, but the first. She had to bring her stuff down a floor. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was pretty funny at the time.
Sara and I were not the first people to arrive to our new apartment. Amber had arrived a few hours before us, and had already been to campus and had began settling in. She claimed the first of two single rooms. I claimed the second one, leaving Sara and our last arrival, Rebekah, in the double. The apartment is cute, and full of character. You walk into a small common space with a few comfortable chairs and a book shelf. To the right is the double room and straight up is the kitchen. If you make a right before entering the kitchen, there is a hallway that has Amber's room to the left, the bathroom directly ahead, and my room on the right, in the very middle. All of our rooms have access to a generous balcony that wraps the entire 2 sides of our apartment facing the street, as well as the Kitchen. Every room has door, but mine has 3 points of entry. One from the Double room, one from the hall way, and I have two large sliding doors that have access to the common space, but are also giant mirrors. Below is a video tour of our apartment. You are NOT allowed to laugh at my voice! :) Enjoy!

Sara and I took a moment to take everything in before we headed off to CYA Head quarters. Amber was nice enough to show us the way, seeing as she'd gotten lost herself. The walk was fast and there were other students being given a warm welcome and a quick orientation. We were given folders with lots of information in. This included our CYA website login, our ID's, class schedule, program roster, maps of Athens and Greece, Maps of our neighborhood- Plateia, Wifi information, and the list goes on and on. A woman explained all the papers to us and gave us an itinerary for our first few weeks in Athens.

After this, we went and paid our deposits and took care of getting Cell phones in Greece. We were advised to glance through our hand books in our free time until orientation began (tues.)
We returned home and just in time to Greet Rebekah. We decided to do a little bit of exploring before attending a Meet and Greet around 5pm.
We were all exhausted by the end of our first half-day in Greece! After the CYA staff officially greeted us as a whole, and the student population kind of looked at each other for two hours, we returned home to our Apartment and began to unpack and get to know each other.

I like my roommates and we all seem to get a long just fine. Like Sara and I, Rebekah and Amber attend the same University, so they too knew people in the program. We have a nice dynamic going on and I look forward to all the adventures we plan on having.

Below is a video of us walking to CYA!
